Admission to the Skegness Junior Academy

The Skegness Junior Academy provides for the needs of children within the 7 to 11 age range who live in Skegness and the surrounding areas.

Pupils will be admitted at the age of 7+ without reference to ability or aptitude using the criteria set out in this policy. Admission to our Academy is not dependent on any ‘voluntary’ contribution.

Links with the Skegness Infant Academy

If a child attends the Skegness Infant Academy, it is usually a straight forward transfer to the Skegness Junior Academy for Year 3 however an application for a place must be made in the usual way.

Admission Numbers

  • 90 for pupils in Year 3

For admission to Year 3 in September, parents should apply using the Lincolnshire County Council’s Admission process - click on the link to complete the online form.

Admissions open on Friday 14 November.  Application forms must be completed and returned direct to the County Council by 15 January.

In-Year Admissions

Lincolnshire County Council will co-ordinate in-year admissions and applications should be made online
to their local authority Admissions website.

Appeals

If a parent’s/carer’s application for a place at the Academy is unsuccessful, they have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel.

Parents/carers should submit their appeal in writing and giving their reasons for appeal, direct to the Academy.  Please complete the online form below.

ADMISSION APPEALS TIMELINES

Primary schools - National Offer Day 16 April 2025, Deadline for an appeal to be received - Midnight 14 May 2025.

Secondary schools – National Offer Day 3 March 2025, Deadline for an appeal to be received – Noon 31st March 2025
