Computing
We aim to develop our computing skills both discreetly and as part of our learning across the curriculum. We follow the Teach Computing scheme which has been developed in conjunction with the NCCE (National centre for computing excellence) We are very well equipped to provide children with experience with a range of different software and hardware including laptops, iPads, MicroBits, Cumble Kits and dataloggers.
Subject specific software, from one-off programmes to learning platforms, support teaching and learning across all years. The children develop the skills learned in KS1 throughout KS2 progressing to more complex activities such as data analysis and coding. Pupils will use technology safely and identify where to go for help and support when they have concerns. We hold regular Safer Internet days working closely with the police and local community.

We work hard to develop our pupils online safety skills. We have engaged in the NSPCC Speak out. Stay safe. Online programme which we took part in during workshops that NSPCC delivered in all of our year groups in 2022. We conducted the online refresher as part of the programme in December 2023 and will be completing our journey through the programme in our NSPCC face to face sessions in 2025.
You can find lots of e-safety advice on our website.
